Personally I think I should have adjusted the Virtual Memory ages ago (Win7). As soon as I fired up Sony Vegas 13 and started to record (setting up the microphone was a whole other issue), I was presented with a Low Memory Warning (in Sony Vegas). P.S: Due to the recent unforeseen events with the COVID-19 outbreak, I don't have the option of ordering something custom online(such as upgrading the base model with 16GB of RAM) because it takes very long, only these two models are in stock. I have Win systems with 8GB of RAM and now 16GB of RAM. I saw some videos on Youtube but they were mainly addressing the issue of 4K video being rendered which I know is very demanding. So my question is this: Is the €700 difference justified? Entry level model is priced at €1599 and the upper tier model at €2299. However, I would still highly recommend you to go for a laptop with 12GB to 16GB of DDR4 RAM. Video editing work requires a lot of memory, and hence a laptop below 8GB of RAM is unacceptable. if a video takes 10 minutes instead of 20 to make I don't really mind). RAM is another crucial thing that plays a direct role in improving video editing performance.
Ive heard mixed opinions everywhere on the 8gb vs 16gb not making a difference for anything at all in real world performance. This is my hobby so I don't depend on rendering times for my work(e.g. Now that i have some spare cash available I was wondering if i should purchase another 2 sticks to make it 16gb, I play most modern games out at the moment and do rendering in sony vegas, thats about it. I shoot at 1080P at 60 FPS with a combination of drone footage, DSLR and GoPro. Hi guys I have a choice between the base MBP 2020 13" Core i5 (8th gen) 1.4GHz,8GB RAM LPDDR3 2133MHz,256GB SSD and the 2.0GHz (10th gen),16GB RAM LPDDR4X 3733MHz, 512GB SSD with 4 thunderbolt ports and two fans inside the chassis(compared to 2 thunderbolt ports and inferior cooling in the base model).Īssuming that my main use for this laptop is a secondary machine for everyday tasks (light web programming, web design) and some video editing with FCX.
